Kabite Shine is an ASBL which was inspired and created in 2008 by the remarkable story of the mother of our Association's President—a dedicated medical professional who spent her life championing the rights of women across Africa. Her journey reflected the strength, resilience, and unity of women who face challenges with unwavering courage.
This initiative represents a tapestry of connections, forged through shared experiences and collaborative efforts. Like the threads of a robust fishing net, it brings together individuals and communities in a spirit of solidarity and support. The name Kabite embodies this essence, symbolizing the strength of interconnectedness and the power of collective action rooted in African values and heritage.
KABITE SHINE’s mission is to transform corporate philanthropy into a powerful engine of change in the fields of culture, economy, and heritage. By facilitating exchanges between political, economic, and cultural leaders, the association inspires and guides companies in their philanthropy strategies. Together, we support the economic and cultural development of women in Africa, paving the way for a more equitable and prosperous future.
Our uniqueness? Bringing together economic experts to evaluate innovative projects. More importantly, we do not engage in crowd-funding, instead accept donations from economic and political actors. Supporting culture and heritage not only encourages the expression of creativity but also contributes to projects that enrich our society and stimulate economic development, particularly for women in Africa. In 2020, 47.6% eligible women were actively in the workforce, whereas in 2023, 32.2% young women were employed.
